Retention comes from your plan. There is no per-site setting for it, so the answer is the same for every site and app on the account.

What each plan keeps

The figures for every plan are on the pricing page, next to the plan that sells them.

They are not repeated here on purpose. Plan windows are catalogue settings that can be changed, and a number copied into a page like this one would go on saying what used to be true long after somebody edited the plan, with nothing to show which of the two was right. The pricing page reads the live catalogue; this page explains what the number means.

Three things are true whichever plan you are on:

  • Recordings expire soonest. A replay is watched while diagnosing something happening now, almost never a year later, and it is by far the heaviest thing Skomi stores.
  • Feedback is kept as long as analytics. What somebody took the trouble to write is the most considered thing here, and there is nothing like the volume of it.
  • Apps match sites. Screens and errors from a tracked app are kept for exactly as long as page views are.

The totals expire with the detail

Some tools keep a long summary behind a short window of raw data, so you can see a number for last year but cannot open it.

Skomi does not. The daily rollup is deleted alongside the rows it summarises, so if a month is gone from your reports it is gone from the totals too. A chart you can see is a chart you can click into.

When it happens

A sweep runs once a day and removes whatever is past your plan's window. It is not instant: a day that has just aged out may still be there for a few hours.

The cutoff is a whole day, not an exact moment. A plan selling ninety days gives you ninety days or a few hours more, never less.

Changing plan

Moving up extends the window immediately, but it cannot bring back what has already been deleted. If you expect to need a longer history, change plan before the data ages out rather than after.

Moving down shortens the window, and the next sweep will remove anything now outside it.

Deleting a site

Deleting a site removes everything it holds (page views, sessions, goals, recordings, heatmaps and feedback) across every store, not just the one you are looking at. That is immediate and permanent, and it is not the same as switching a product off.

Switching a product off stops collection and leaves what has already been recorded, so switching it back on later shows the history intact, subject to the same retention window.
